What to do about wrinkles? Many people live with them,
many people hate them. Newly developed treatments can help minimize wrinkles,
often without the use of surgery and with minimal down time. With most
treatments, you do not have to miss work at all.
Many people benefit
the most from a combination of treatments. Botox® can
be used in connection with Restylane®, Juvederm® or Sculptra®.
All procedures may be performed on the same day. Our office will design
a regimen to fit your specific skin needs.
For facial wrinkles in the
upper half of the face, including those around the eyes, the vertical
line between the eyebrows and the horizontal lines across the forehead, Botox® has
been very helpful. Botox® has
been used for medical reasons such as certain nerve and eye conditions
for about 20 years. The Botox® injections
generally are minimally uncomfortable.

Restylane® is a crystal-clear, biodegradable
NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic
Acid) gel, which is injected into the dermis in
tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous, produces a
long-lasting, natural enhancement, and is gentle and safe to the skin.
Restylane® does not require
allergy testing so these treatments can often be performed on the same
day as your consultation
Radiesse™ is another new filler meaning that it can be used where you
have wrinkles, scars and furrows. It is also used to treat the lines
that go from the corners of the nose to the lips, to outline the lips,
for facial wasting and lipodystrophy (lipoatrophy) and for other areas
as well. Radiesse™ also does not requite allergy testing so treatments
can often be performed on the same day as your consultation. Our dermatologist has written two papers about Radiesse™ that were published in the dermatology literature. He is one of the first physicians in the New York area to use Radiesse™.
