DO PEOPLE SAY YOU LOOK OLDER?
ARE THERE DIAGONAL LINES BETWEEN YOUR NOSE AND LIPS?
DO YOU HAVE LINES AND WRINKLES ELSEWHERE ON THE FACE DO YOU HAVE ACNE SCARS?

WE MAY HAVE A WAY TO HELP YOU.

What is Restylane®?

RESTYLANE® is a crystal-clear, biodegradable NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid) gel, which is injected into the dermis in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous, producing a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to the skin.

Since it was launched in 1996, RESTYLANE® has undergone extensive histological and clinical studies with an increasing body of evidence relating to its ease of use, tolerability and effectiveness. Today, more than one million treatments have been successfully carried out worldwide, as documented on the Restylane web site.

What causes these wrinkles?

These kinds of wrinkles are caused by aging, sun damage and genetics

What are the alternative treatments?

Other fillers that we currently use include Radiesse and Sculptra. For some patients, fillers are not enough, and surgical or other procedures are necessary.

What are the risks and complications?

Allergic reactions are uncommon with Restylane®, but in the uncommon event a patient can have redness, inflammation, bumps or other symptoms that generally resolve, but may be long–lasting. In order to minimize any discomfort, we use topical anesthetic, or cream applied on the treated area and left on the skin for about an hour. Sometimes it is necessary to inject anesthesia, especially for Restylane treatments around the lips.

What can one expect during and immediately after the procedure?

After the treatment, there can be some swelling, bruising and redness, which usually goes away within a few hours, but can last a few days or more. Makeup can be worn immediately after the treatment.

When will Restylane® take effect?

Immediately, but sometimes touch-ups are necessary within two to four weeks.

How long does Restylane® last?

Restylane® lasts from about 3 up to 8 months, but may begin to fade after about 3 months. Touch-ups are necessary periodically.

Can Restylane® treatments be combined with any other kind of treatments?

Yes—many patients want to help other wrinkles on their face by having Botox® Cosmetic treatments. Restylane and Botox® Cosmetic treatments can often be performed during the same session.

Who should not use Restylane®?

Anyone who has an allergy to Restylane® or any of its components.

Restylane® is an FDA approved medication for the cosmetic treatment of diagonal wrinkles between the nose and the lips. The FDA permits physicians to use their professional discretion for the off-label use of products like Restylane®. This means doctors can use Restylane® to treat wrinkles in other places on the face besides the lines between the nose and the lips.

How do I get started with Restylane®?

Frequently, only one session is needed to see results. If you have any questions or wish to set up an appointment, please contact our office via this website or call our office today at (212) 557-2600.
