Our medical director is a board certified medical doctor
and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is an Ivy League
graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and its School of Medicine.
He performed his internship at the University of Michigan and completed
his residency in dermatology at New York University.
Our dermatologist has authored many peer-reviewed medical journal articles and has been consulted
by Mademoiselle magazine, the New York Post, Time-Out New York,
Star Magazine, and the Daily News as
well as by such well-known columnists as Ann Landers. He also made numerous
media appearances to discuss skin care.
In addition, our dermatologist has consulted for several major cosmetic companies. He has pioneered the
use of certain fillers, substances that when injected, can fill certain facial wrinkle lines and restore contours without surgery.
He has treated many professional athletes including professional baseball
and basketball players as well as championship boxers and wrestlers. He
has lectured on numerous topics including Sports Dermatology.
Our practice has also treated many media and television personalities, business
executives and Broadway actors.
Our physician has been affiliated with major hospitals and has held faculty
appointments at prestigious medical schools and hospitals in New York
City such as The Mount Sinai Medical Center. Reflecting the center's belief in alternative and complementary
medicine, our dermatologist is the first MD to be affiliated with the
distinguished Swedish Institute of Massage.
Our center's philosophy is to provide treatment that is as pain-free and
effective as possible while stressing the importance of disease prevention.
As a convenience to our patients, surgical treatment
is performed in our office on an outpatient basis. Hospitalization is
seldom required.
If you have any questions regarding the condition of
your skin, treatment, test results, medications, or prescriptions, please
contact our office and we will be happy to answer your questions. If you
have an emergency, you may need to go to the nearest emergency room. Otherwise,
our 24-hour answering service is available for your messages.
You may take prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice.
Necessary refills may be obtained by returning the container to the same
pharmacy.
For our patients' protection while taking prescription medications, it
is our center's policy not to prescribe refills by phone unless you have
been examined in the office in the past three months.
In order to help keep the cost of medical care and billing
down, we request payment at the time of office visit.
Personal checks, cash and all major credit cards are accepted as payment.
The initial consultation fee does not include surgical procedures or follow-up
appointments. The laboratory will bill laboratory tests separately.
Many people have some type of health insurance to defray
a portion of their medical costs leaving a smaller balance for them to
pay personally.
Insurance is an agreement between you and your insurance carrier. It may
not cover all services in full; your plan may cover a portion of fees,
however, after the initial payment for the year, the deductible, has been
met.
Our staff will assist you with any insurance questions you have, and provide
you with an itemized bill to expedite processing with your insurance carrier.
If you wish, our staff will be pleased to fill out your paperwork and
process your insurance forms for you.
We appreciate and welcome any referrals you send to
our office. We look forward to caring for you, your family, friends, and
co-workers.
